Ridgeway Press

Ridgeway Press takes its name from The Ridgeway which is a route used since prehistoric times by villagers, farmers, travellers and herdsmen (as well as soldiers), and which runs 87 miles from Ivinghoe Beacon in the north, across the North Wessex Downs to West Kennet in the south.

It was a wise name selection - it is a good analogy for a company that provides services from the beginning to the end of the customer's print journey and to a wide range of industries.  

The Ridgeway was used as a safer route, along a sometimes difficult journey; elevated so you can see your way, with paths allowing you to drop down off the peak when you needed to access the villages or towns.

You will come across a vast range of features as you travel this ancient way - the stones at Avebury World Heritage Site, the Iron Age fort of Barbury Castle, the woods and valleys of the Chilterns and the sweeping downland of the North Wessex Downs.

At times The Ridgeway is tough and rugged, with undulating and difficult terrain and at others it is peaceful, grassy tracks with skylarks high up above.

 

Simon Hobden, owner of Ridgeway Press, is a keen community volunteer, helping out at Burbage Primary School as well as the Wilton Windmill Society.  As a result, Ridgeway Press is also very active in the community and supports local not-for-profit and charitable events and organisations, such as the Marlborough Puppetry Festival, where Ridgeway is proud to be involved.
